Prof. Xiong Bin is working in the faculty of Management and Economics, Kunming University of Science and Technology(KUST). Currently, she is the director of the ASEAN Research Center of KUST and the invited expert of the South Eastern Research Institute of Yunnan Academy of Social Science. Her main research area is World Economy and her specific research topic includes the international industrial cooperation, International trade and FDI, competitiveness of international firms etc. Having been involved with the research on China, Yunnan and South Eastern Asian issues, Prof.Xiong is familiar with the economic, financial and trade situation of South Eastern Asia countries as the key researchers of GMSNET research network.
Her recent publication includes more than 20 academic papers such as “ International Trade Issue”, “ South Asian Studies Quarterly” etc. and other working papers. Among them, two papers have been accepted by the Economic and Management Forum of Cambridge University and the 9th International Convention of Asian Scholars in Australia. In addition, she is responsible for the research projects supported by the Chinese Social Science Foundation, Yunnan Educational Department as well as many international projects funded by International Development Research Center of Canada, UNESCAP, and Cambodian Development Resource Center etc. Meanwhile, Prof.Xiong has been invited to conduct the policy consultancy projects of Yunnan Commercial Department, Yunnan Development and Reform Committee etc.
Besides, the past years have witnessed her receiving some awards such as the Second Prize of Excellent Research Result of Yunnan Social Science Research in 2017, the Third Prize of Excellent Research Result of Yunnan Social Science Research in 2013, the First Prize of Classroom Teaching Competition of Yunnan Province in 2017.
