Professor Jiger Janabel, the Senior fellow at the New Vision Eurasian Researching Center-Kazakhstan, was invited by Professor Wei Jingfu, director of the institute for China Neighboring Economies(ICNE) , and visited ICNE on November 14, 2018. A warm and in-depth symposium with teachers and students was held.
Professor JigerJanabel has his own views on the development of international economic situation and the future of regional economic cooperation.He believes that President Xi Jinping's great initiative of "The Belt and Road" launched in Kazakhstan benefits the countries along the belt and road. Those countries can leverage their respective resources and geographical advantages to complement each other's advantages and make common progress with China. It is worth looking forward to a stable and win-win economic prospect in central Asia.He said he believed that with the gradual implementation of the initiative, Kazakhstan, as the most important country along the route, will have more room to improve its cooperation with China in the future.
However, professor JigerJanabel also pointed out that there are many practical problems in some projects jointly developed by China and Kazakhstan in Kazakhstan, such as the implementation subject breaking away from the local people and the excessive salary gap between the employees of Kazakhstan and China in Chinese enterprises. We hope that in the future, with the close collaboration between our two research institutions, we can promote the solution of these problems in the way of academic achievements promotion and jointly contribute to the smooth implementation of "The Belt and Road" initiative.
After more than two hours of in-depth communication and discussion,Professor Jiger Janabel reached three consensuses with China Neighboring Economieson behalf of the New Vision Eurasian Researching Center-Kazakhstan:
a. build the China-Kazakhstan joint think tank platform and launch the special research on "One Belt and One Road" and “China's soft power construction"as soon as possible;
b. three Russian papers will be submitted by ICNE for publication in Russian academic journalin three months;
c. Strive to hold a seminar on China's soft power constructionjointly in Almaty in summer 2019.
There are Professor Zhang Yongqing, Associate professor Qin Bingtao, Dr. Tian Wenju and other researchers of the center and some graduate students participating in this academic seminar.
