Scientific research doesn’t stop while fighting against the epidemic

In the early spring of 2020, due to the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia outbreak, factories and schools were closed,and countries began to develop a social "shock" mode. In January and February when the epidemic was most severe, under the strong support of Business School, International Affairs and Science and Technology Administration inUniversity of Shanghai for Science and Technology,teachers and students in ICNE not only completed Indochina peninsula survey supported by "Teacher-student academic community" project, also finished the dissertation writing and the online defense for the postgraduates majoring in international trade and international business with high quality and high quantity through the way of online discussion and shared outcomes. Twenty-nine graduate students successfully completed their studies and entered the society.

The short-term isolation brought by working at home has not stopped researchers from engaging in scientific research. They actively participate in various competitive research projects and have achieved remarkable results. Researcher Li Jia was the first to receive funds from the program of youth fund for humanities and social sciences research launched by Ministry of education of the People’s republic of China in 2020. The funded project was titled "China-EU Bilateral Investment Game Model and Relationship Transformation: Research Based on New EU Regulations(No.20YJCGJW006)"; The project, named risk prevention research in Shanghai under the background of increasing downward economic pressure, declared by associate professor Yang Weixin was also approved as Shanghai university think tank connotation construction project in 2020; Researcher Wei Wendong stood out from many competitors and was admitted in the Shanghai youth science and technology talents plan (implementation period: 201908-202212), and obtained successively the funds provided by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and Ministry of education of the People’s republic of China.

In addition to the publishing of a batch of high-quality academic papers including Analysis of Factors Influencing the Trade Creation Effect of China's Free Trade Agreements: An Empirical Test Based on the Impact of Dynamic Tariff Reduction on Trade Flow Changes (Zhou Jiexin) and The Influence of ASEAN Trade Facilitation Level on Yunnan's Export Trade Flow (Wu Cong), The European central bank's unconventional monetary policy: theory, effect and outlook, co-authored by researcher Li Jia, was published by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Press in April 2020. This is the second academic monograph published by ICNE within one year after Study on China-Japan economic and trade relations in ASEAN (published by WENHUI PRESS) co-authored by Wei Jingfu, Guo Jianquan and Wang Jiang in April 2019.

Green mountains together with the clouds and rain, we stand in hard times together! Unable to personally support Wuhan, but we will unite and cooperate in the pursuit of knowledge and truth in return for the Chinese hot land!
