Time flies, it will be the end of the year. With the efforts of all the faculty and students, the Institute for China Neighboring Economies (ICNE) of The University of Shanghai for Science and Technology has made great achievements. In order to review the countless memorable moments of our solidarity during the COVID-19 pandemic, to encourage students who have excelled in academic competitions, and to look forward to the future, the ICNE Conference 2021 and year-end concluding meeting was successfully concluded on the evening of December 27.
A Vlog opened the annual meeting. Professor Wei Jingfu, director of ICNE Center, and more than ten students recorded their New Year messages and wishes. At 5:00 PM, Professor Zhang Yongqing announced the opening of the annual meeting with a bold pledge and ensure that mankind will prevail over the COVID-19 epidemic in 2022. He hoped that students could learn to think deeply and grow healthily under the new situation. Professor Luo Fang hopes that all of us can cherish the good time of youth and live up to the new era. Guo Jianquan, Tian Wenju, Yang Weixin, Tang Qiao and Min Min also expressed their New Year wishes to the teachers and students from different perspectives of life, study and giving back to society. Xu Zheng, a PhD student from Renmin University of China, and Du Shiqi, a master's student from Soochow University, who left ICNE last year, also shared their New Year's resolutions via the Internet and video respectively.
The whole venue resounded with the sound of an impassioned symphony. Professor Wei Jingfu suggested that all the teachers and students celebrate the New Year by wishing the prosperity of the motherland with gratitude. The students would become masters of their own thoughts in their future work and study and contribute to the beautiful world in the new era.
After reviewing their achievements in the past year, there are more than 10 academic papers published by teachers and students in authoritative magazines such as Economic Research, International Business Research and Japanese Studies. Zhao Siyu, 2019 Master of International Trade, won the third prize of the 10th APMCM Mathematical Modeling Contest for College Students in the Asia-Pacific Region and the second prize of the 6th National Academic English Vocabulary Contest. Bai Yuxuan, 2020 Master of International Business, won the second prize of the 7th China "Internet +" College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in Shanghai. Zhu Beijia, an undergraduate majoring in finance of 2018, won the first prize of The Shanghai University Student Enterprise Operation Simulation Sand table.
The year of 2021, when the epidemic has become a regular occurrence, makes everyone's experience unique, but regret has already passed. Hope and perseverance are the mindset we need to embrace in 2022.After calling for "enthusiasm for life, warmth for friends and passion for learning", the host Li Mingzhe announced that ICNE would welcome the New Year of 2022 with great enthusiasm.
