Following the opening ceremony of the 2022 graduate students held by the Business School of USST, in order to help freshmen enter the postgraduate research state and integrate into the campus life soon，MIB supervisor group held a unique online teacher-student meeting and freshman orientation education event at 8pm on Sep 7th. 15 graduate supervisors and 25 new students of MIB major attended it.
The event was hosted by Dr. Qin Bingtao. First, Professor Wei Jingfu, the leader of MIB and ICNE, introduced the development history of international business major of USSTBS, the characteristics of three research directions of China neighboring economies and the necessity to strengthen reading from a broad reading perspective. He also shared the experience of doing scientific research with graduate students, reminding them maintain a strong and extensive curiosity based on the accumulation of knowledge with a broad vision and develop a "problem awareness" under the guidance of postgraduate supervisors.
After that, all MIB supervisors introduced themselves and gave their unique guidance and advice to graduate students on their future study. Dr. Qin Bingtao hoped that the students should aim highly and accumulate steadily, at the same time, he encouraged them with "success always favors those who are prepared". Dr. Bian Zeyang advised students to determine their future direction and enter into academic research as soon as possible. Dr. Guo Jianquan hoped that students and faculty of this professional team could work together to create a brilliant future. In the end, each graduate student introduced themselves and expressed their expectations or blessings in their home dialects.
Entrance education is the first lesson for freshmen to enter the campus, and it is the starting point to start the academic research process. We hope every graduate student can cherish the wonderful time of studying in USST, and start a new journey in the new stage of research life with enthusiasm and enthusiasm without forgetting the original intention and firm ideal.
