ICNE 2022: Storms always give way to the sun.
In the first half of 2022, Shanghai experienced the most serious infection crisis since the emergence of the novel coronavirus and the accompanying long-term "silence" in the city. Teachers and students in ICNE were also deeply involved, and the normal scientific research work and study were greatly affected. However, the teachers and students overcame many difficulties and made great efforts to minimize the impact of the epidemic. The graduate students and the audit undergraduates won a record number of awards.
At the beginning of New Year, two Applied Economics graduate students of Class 2021 supervised by ICNE researcher Professor Zhang Yongqing announced their first success. Song Hongyan won the third prize in the 18th "Huawei Cup" China Post-Graduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling. Zhu Huiyun participated the third prize in The 6th National Academic English Vocabulary Competition ( NAEV ) on May 29, 2021 and won the third price at the graduate level . After the summer vacation, the paper of CAI Wenqiu (supervised by Professor Wei Jingfu), a graduate of International Business major in 2021, " Research on China’s Industrial Economic Loss Under Sino-US Trade Conflict——An Analysis Based on The Model of ITIM." was selected as the 2022 Outstanding Dissertation of Graduate students of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (104/2590). After that, Li Mingzhe (supervised by Professor Wei Jingfu), a graduate student of applied economics from Class 2021, won the second prize of the 2022 Summer Social Practice Activity of USST with the project of "Investigation on the Current Situation of Coordinated Development of New Energy Industry in Yangtze River Delta".
The two undergraduate students of the School of Management who have been auditing and participating in relevant academic activities at ICNE have won many university student competition awards at home and abroad. Qi Zhengjian, a student majoring in Business Administration (Class 2019), not only set the record of the highest number of books borrowed by USST in the year, but also actively participated in various competitions and won many awards. After winning the third prize of the China Collegiate Algorithm Design & Programming Challenge Contest in March, He led the team to win the second prize of 2022 Mathematical Contest In Modeling (MCM/ICM), the first prize of C/C++ Programming University Group B of the 13th Lanqiao Cup National Software and Information Technology Professionals Competition in Shanghai, and the third prize of 2022 China College Students Mathematical Contest in Modeling in Shanghai. Up to now, he has six awards at school level and above. Zhu Beijia, majoring in International Finance (Grade 2018), also won the university-level third prize in the 13th "Challenge Cup" College Student Business Plan Competition in May 2022 and the second prize in the 8th China International "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Business Competition in August 2022. As an outstanding graduate of USST, she was admitted to Shanghai University for a master's degree.
Every cloud has a silver lining. Despite many setbacks, in the face of the uncertainty of 2023, ICNE teachers and students always believe that just because we can't see the path doesn't mean it's not there.
