On the afternoon of October 22, the Seminar on discipline development of the Master International Business (MIB) with the theme of Focusing on a New Round of Discipline Evaluation, Condensing Discipline Characteristics, and Improving the Quality of Talent Training was held in Conference Room 610, Building A, Management and Economics Building. Wei Jingfu, the head of the discipline, Qin Bingtao, the director of the Department of International Trade, Zhou Min, the deputy director, and Professor Zhang Yongqing and other discipline tutors attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Wei Jingfu.
At the meeting, Wei Jingfu elaborated on the current situation of MIB and pointed out the new requirements for teachers and students in the future. At the same time, he emphasized that in the face of the increasingly fierce job market, tutors need to pay more attention on the employment situation of students and actively innovate teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students. And he called on all tutors to pay close attention to the future development direction of international business and provide strong support for students' career development.
Qin Bingtao said that teachers should combine academic literacy edification with detailed teaching activities in teaching, actively contact experts to hold various academic lectures, continue to create special activities such as seniors take me to do scientific research, and encourage students to continue to pay attention to social hotspots, actively integrate into society, and cultivate practical ability and innovative spirit.
Zhang Yongqing said that teachers should pay attention to the current general trend of education, and in the context of the country's increased efforts to promote professional master's training, the international business major should pay close attention to its own development, form characteristics and continue to promote the construction of the discipline, make full use of existing resources, and enhance the attractiveness of the discipline. At the same time, he also encouraged the tutors to actively look for cases, break through their own limitations, and carry out more activities of external experts in the classroom to enrich the teaching content.
From the perspective of students' needs, Zhou Min put forward the importance of docking resources and building structures. She believes that the tutor team should be based on the actual needs of students, actively connect with various resources, and build on the discipline structure to ensure the innovation and particularity of teaching content.
In the free discussion session, the participating supervisors had a heated discussion on the topic of improving the enthusiasm of graduate students and scientific research. They agreed that the key to improving the teaching quality of international business is to stimulate students' interest and motivation to learn through innovative teaching methods and improve students' enthusiasm.
