ICNE Invited Professor Zhang Bingbing of Nanjing Agricultural University to Give a Cutting-edge Academic Report

On December 13, Professor Zhang Bingbing of Nanjing Agricultural University was invited by Qin Bingtao, a researcher of Institute for China Neighboring Economies (ICNE), to give an academic report entitled Industrialization and Urbanization in the Context of National Food Security to teachers and students in the lecture hall on the fourth floor of the School of Management.

Academic Presentations

Starting from the current situation of the spatial distribution of heavily polluting enterprises, combined with a large number of field research data and case analysis, Zhang Bingbing shows the complex relationship network between the spatial agglomeration of heavily polluting enterprises and food security, and expounds the pollution mechanism of the spatial agglomeration of heavily polluting enterprises on the environment and ecology, as well as the far-reaching impact on cultivated land abandonment and food security. He pointed out that solving this problem requires multidisciplinary cooperation, starting from multiple levels such as policy formulation, enterprise management, and scientific and technological innovation, to jointly explore the path of sustainable development.

In the course of the report, Zhang Bingbing emphasized the importance of multidisciplinary research, and called on teachers and students to explore effective ways to solve the problems of spatial agglomeration, farmland abandonment and food security of heavily polluting enterprises from different perspectives.

In addition, he also shared his research experience and statistical methods in related fields, which provided reference and reference for teachers and students.

Introduction: Zhang Bingbing, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Economics and Management, Nanjing Agricultural University, deputy director of the Department of Economics and Trade, director of the Agricultural Carbon Neutrality and Green Development Research Center of Nanjing Agricultural University, and executive director of the Jiangsu World Economic Association. He has been awarded the titles of Qinglan Project Outstanding Young Backbone Teacher of Jiangsu Province, Academic Rookie of Zhongshan Scholar Program of Nanjing Agricultural University, and Sheng Quan Professor of School of Economics and Management of Nanjing Agricultural University. He has long been engaged in research in trade and environmental pollution, low-carbon and energy economics and other related fields. He has published more than 50 high-level academic papers in journals such as Energy Economics, China & World Economy, World Economy, Quantitative and Technical Economic Research, Scientific Research Management, Nankai Economic Research, International Trade Issues, Economic Review, Financial Research, Geographical Research, etc. He has presided over 2 national projects and 1 major project of Jiangsu Provincial Social Science Foundation. The relevant achievements have been affirmatively approved by provincial and ministerial leaders.
